Drs. Rosengart and Ghanta Re-Elected to Editorial Board

Todd K. Rosengart, M.D., and Ravi K. Ghanta, M.D., will continue on as members of the editorial board of the major medical publication, Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
As stated on the journal’s website, Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery is devoted to providing a forum for cardiothoracic surgeons to disseminate and discuss important new information and to gain insight into unresolved areas of question in the specialty. Seminars is an invitation-only publication that receives original submissions transferred only from its sister publication, The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Dr. Rosengart is professor and chair of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He holds the DeBakey-Bard Chair of Surgery and is professor of heart and vascular disease at the Texas Heart Institute. He is currently president of the Society of Surgical Chairs, a member of the board of directors of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, a member of the board of directors of Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, and chair of the board of governors of the Baylor College of Medicine Faculty Group Practice.

Dr. Ghanta is an associate professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and chief of Cardiac Surgery at Ben Taub hospital. Dr. Ghanta’s laboratory focuses on ventricular remodeling in heart failure including restraint therapy, stem cell therapy, and tissue engineering. Dr. Ghanta trained in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Maine. During his residency, he spent three years in the lab studying ventricular restraint therapy for ventricular remodeling in heart failure and was awarded research grants from the NIH.
