About the Program

The Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine offers a three-month preceptorship training for graduate Advanced Practice Providers (APP’s) in men’s health, sexual medicine, and urology. This hybrid program comprised of both clinical and didactic components will provide APP’s with a remarkable opportunity to gain competence in providing care for patients with hypogonadism, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, orgasmic dysfunction, infertility, and associated urological conditions.

Clinical training will be conducted at the Baylor Medicine at McNair Campus. Preceptors will attend outpatient clinics, four to five days per week treating new and established patients in collaboration with the faculty (PA & Physician).

At the completion of the program, preceptors will be proficient in performing outpatient procedures including:

  • Collagenase Clostridium injection for Peyronie’s Disease
  • Testosterone Pellet Insertion
  • Assisting with vasectomy and testicular sperm extraction

APP’s will also have the opportunity to participate in the post-operative patient management of procedures such as:

  • Insertion of penile prothesis
  • Artificial urinary sphincter placement
  • Male sling procedure
  • Transurethral resection of the prostate
  • Varicocelectomy
  • Penile plication and other urological surgeries

This program accepts two advanced practice providers to the program annually. Applications will be accepted in December and July of each year.

To apply please send a resume, cover letter, and one letter of recommendation to Course Leader, Basil Kaaki, DMSc, PA-C.
