The ASC provides all Baylor of College Medicine students with student-centered services, resources and development opportunities to enhance their transferable learning skills and achieve their highest potential at all stages of their learning journey.
One-on-One Academic Support Appointment

Medical & Health Professions Tutoring
Medical and Health Professions students can schedule tutoring appointments to refine their content knowledge and prepare for upcoming exams. Tutoring is available for the following course subjects:
- Anatomy/Anatomical Sciences
- Biochemistry/Clinical Biochemistry
- Orthotics & Prosthetics curriculum
On-Campus Study Space
The Academic Success Center study spaces occupy about 4,000 square feet on the second and fourth floors of the DeBakey Center for Medical Education at Baylor College of Medicine. Each floor includes seating ideal for small group and individual studying. Desktop computers, printers, dry erase boards, and other equipment are available for trainee use. ASC student assistants are on site seven days a week, ready to help. If a student assistant is not available while you are using the space, e-mail us at email@example.com or call (713) 798-4173 for assistance.
The ASC offers a host of books and study materials available for students to borrow. Need access to other resources, such as journals or other books? You can visit the TMC Library. Schedule a virtual consultation with a TMC Librarian for more information.
Online Academic Resources
Check out the resources we have available to students on Blackboard by going to Organizations and clicking Academic Success Center. Here, you will find resources on study skills, time and task management, presentation skills, reading strategies, writing support, and more. Additionally, we have banks of free study guides, online textbooks and materials, and screen-reader friendly resources.
Free academic skill-building resources are available to BCM students through WellConnect [School Code R346] on topics such as managing your time wisely, building resiliency, and more.
Student Commons: Read this weekly newsletter for information about ASC upcoming events, announcements of new services or resources and more. The newsletter is sent to all students on Mondays and an archive of all past issues is available on the Intranet (Baylor login required).
Instagram: Our Instagram account, @bcm_academicsuccess is not only a great place to learn about upcoming events. We also regularly share tips and suggestions to hone your academic skills.
