What is BCM LIFE?
BCM LIFE is Baylor College of Medicine’s student well-being initiative managed under the BCM Well-Being program within Human Resources. BCM LIFE partners with internal student departments like the Office of Student and Trainee Service, the Wellness Intervention Team, Student Benefits, and Student Ambassadors to offer a robust well-being offering to the student population.
2025 Highlights and Moving Forward
Thank you to the BCM student community members who participated in BCM LIFE activities last year. The health and well-being of our student population is crucial to the success of our future healthcare workforce and our organization. Here are a few key themes from 2025, improvements for the 2026 program year, and suggestions to maximize your BCM LIFE experience this year.
Participation
Students enrolled in the School of Medicine, School of Health Professions, or the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences are eligible to participate in BCM LIFE. Enrollment in the Baylor student health insurance plan is not required.
From events hosted by BCM LIFE Ambassadors to digital programs in the well-being portal, BCM LIFE programs are designed for everyone. Students may even find additional resources on our educational opportunities page (recorded presentations are for informational purposes only; students do not receive incentives for watching).
Feedback Theme #1: Well-Being Portal Usability
Our well-being portal partner, Asset Health, has introduced several upgrades for 2026 across both the desktop site and mobile app to create a more intuitive experience.
Do you have ideas for how we can continue to improve the well-being portal? Email your suggestions to bcm-life@bcm.edu.
Feedback Theme #2: Supportive and Healthy Work/Study Environments
This year, BCM Well-Being will continue to share resources to help leaders and students foster supportive, respectful, and well-being-centric environments. BCM LIFE Ambassadors will continue to plan monthly events and activities to support the BCM student community.
Feedback Theme #3: Staying Informed
Be sure to look out for the BCM LIFE newsletter and mentions of events and point opportunities in institutional communications, such as NewsLink. The well-being portal is the most up-to-date source, featuring a calendar with activities, classes, and deadlines. Events and additional opportunities are also available on InTouch.
Do you have ideas for how we can keep you informed? Email your suggestions to bcm-life@bcm.edu.
Feedback Theme #4: Versatile Incentives
New short-term incentives are available when completing challenges in the well-being portal. Students now have three prize options to choose from for each challenge completed.
Wishing you a meaningful, healthy, and successful year ahead.
