Division Overview
The Division of Hematology-Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine is one of the largest and most comprehensive academic programs of its kind in the world. Faculty in the division provide care through Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center, a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of childhood cancer and blood disorders. The Center serves patients across the greater Houston area, throughout Texas, nationally and internationally.
The division is committed to excellence in clinical care, research, education and global health. Multidisciplinary teams deliver coordinated, family-centered care that spans the entire patient journey—from diagnosis and treatment to long-term survivorship. Holistic support is provided through psychosocial services, educational resources, and survivorship programs that address the full spectrum of patient and family needs.
Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center provides care at multiple locations, including Texas Children’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, West Campus, The Woodlands, Austin and McAllen. Through the Global HOPE (Hematology-Oncology Pediatric Excellence) program, the division is also expanding access to life-saving care in sub-Saharan Africa by training local providers and building sustainable pediatric hematology-oncology capacity.
