Jintanat Ananworanich, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Ananworanich graduated from the Baylor Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Training Program in 1999 and subspecialty training in clinical and laboratory immunology with Dr. Shearer in 2000. She has been engaged in HIV clinical research trials since then in Bangkok, Thailand as the clinical trials coordinator for HIV-NAT (Netherlands, Australia, Thailand). She has academic appointments as associate professor of medicine, University of Hawaii (Bangkok), lecturer, Department of Medicine and Pediatrics, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and chief of the South East Asia Research Collaboration with Hawaii (SEARCH), Bangkok. She has made full professor at the University of Amsterdam where she received a Ph.D. in HIV Research.

Dr. Ananworanich has published 120 peer-reviewed articles and more than 25 chapters/reviewer articles. She directs the HIV training program at SEARCH and has provided intensive training to physicians from South East Asia. She has mentored international trainees from the United States., the Netherlands and Australia. Moreover, Dr. Ananworanich has mentored nine Ph.D. students.

John Andrew Bird, M.D.

Dr. Bird completed his pediatric residency training in 2006 and received his training in allergy and immunology in 2008, both at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital. He is the clinical director of the Food Allergy Center at Children’s Medical Center and assistant professor of pediatrics at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

He studied food allergy at Duke University Medical Center before establishing his own food allergy center in Dallas.

Carla M. Davis, M.D.

Dr. Davis completed her residency and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine. She has an academic appointment as assistant professor, Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. Her work is focused on improving the quality of life for infants, children and adolescents with food allergies. She is dedicated to providing these patients and their families with unparalleled, personalized, family-centered care. She is ultimately dedicated to finding causes and cures for food allergies and food allergy related diseases.

In 2009, her interest in the diagnosis and treatment of food allergic disease and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) increased and she established a clinic dedicated to the treatment of eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (EGID) at Texas Children’s Hospital in collaboration with the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. This multi-disciplinary clinic with an allergist, gastroenterologist and dietician extensively evaluates patients for food allergies and is equipped with a dedicated dietitian to offer nutrition support.

I. Celine Hanson, M.D.

Dr. Hanson has an interest in primary immune deficiency disorders (PIDD) including T and B cell disorders and white blood cell immune dyscrasias. She is an active collaborator in the stem cell transplantation of children with PIDD at Texas Children’s Hospital and a co-investigator in the NIH funded Primary Immune Deficiency Transplant Consortium study of transplant outcomes in U.S. patients with SCID. Other clinical interests include elucidation of genetic mutations that impact PIDD and implementation of curative care plans for affected individuals. She has worked for and with federal and State public health agencies to bring population based services and screening options to both primary (SCID) and secondary immune deficiency disorders in Texas.

As clinical chief for the Allergy and Immunology Service, she works with provider and nursing staff to sustain a premier care center for children with allergic and immune disorders that allows for provision of excellent and efficient medical delivery at all Texas Children’s Hospital campuses.

Lenora M. Noroski, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Noroski graduated from the Baylor Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Training Program in 1998 and received her MPH degree in Health Promotion/Education and Behavioral Sciences in 2009. She is a Fulbright & Jaworski faculty scholar in educational leadership and serves as associate program director for the Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Program. She oversees the educational curriculum for the fellows and rotators, teaches immunology to all levels of trainees, and has mentored trainees and patients in creating and publishing innovative educational and clinical research projects.

She is dedicated to underserved communities, the study of diversity in immunity and human populations, the understanding of the attitudes and beliefs of her patients as they deal with their chronic illnesses and to the success of trainees in allergy and immunology.

Niraj C. Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel is a certified specialist in allergy and immunology and pediatric infectious diseases. He is director of the Immunology Clinic at Levine Children’s Specialty Center and a faculty member in the network of the University of North Carolina at the Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

His special interests are: antimicrobial treatment failures, chronic and recurring infections, congenital infections, fevers: recurrent, persistent or unexplained, HIV exposure, HIV infection, infection from multi-resistant organisms, persistent viral infections, serious or life-threatening infections, severe viral infections and suspected immunodeficiencies.
