Baylor College of Medicine is one of the largest Pediatric Endocrinology training programs in the United States with four fellows each year. We are affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital, one of the largest freestanding pediatric hospitals in the country. Baylor College of Medicine has pediatric faculty in every subspecialty recognized by the American Board of Pediatrics and an extensive research faculty with expertise in plethora of research fields.
Our program integrates our fellows into our state-of-the-art clinical care model, emphasizing the provision of evidence based and culturally competent care. We provide a comprehensive clinical training in common endocrine conditions, as well as frequent encounters of rare and complex pediatric endocrine disorders. Inpatient clinical skills are supplemented by unique experiences in specialty endocrinology and diabetes clinics including DSD, cystic fibrosis related diabetes, Prader Willi syndrome, thyroid nodule and cancer, lipids, PCOS and others.
We are extremely committed to the education and success of our fellows while keeping their wellness in mind. To meet our fellows learning needs, the fellowship program offers three different tracks. In addition, we offer structured research opportunities and training in quality improvement.
The fellows are provided with protected time to engage in an extensive curriculum using innovative active learning techniques. The Texas Children’s Hospital at Texas Medical Center is our primary training site, with the potential to rotate at our community sites for a more rounded experience.

Our Faculty
We have over 30 pediatric endocrinologists on staff and nine advanced practice providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants). Our faculty have trained at a variety of programs around the country including Baylor College of Medicine, Stanford University, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, University of Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt University, Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, The Barbara Davis Center, UCSF, CHOP, and National Institutes of Health amongst others.
