Why Baylor College of Medicine at CHRISTUS Children's? I was drawn to this program for its wide breadth of subspecialty experiences within the field of pediatric gastroenterology while also being a smaller program with close relationships between the fellows and attendings. The high volume of procedures available to fellows as well as mentorship opportunities appeared ideal for preparing me for my future career.

Our first fellow completed her three years of training from our Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship program here at CHRISTUS Children’s - Baylor College of Medicine on June 30, 2020. Dr. Camacho joined The University of Mississippi, Children's Hospital of Mississippi, where she is an assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Her research in "Utility of Rosemont classification in predicting exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in children with chronic pancreatitis" gained an oral presentation at the biggest gastroenterology meeting in the world Digestive Disease Week. She has submitted her research manuscript to the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. She has also published other projects in peer review journals and has other submissions pending.

I chose the Baylor College of Medicine Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at CHRISTUS Children’s because of its unique approach to teaching and individualized curriculum. The faculty is approachable and always makes teaching a priority. The curriculum is flexible and can be tailored to the fellow's area of interest.
