BCM healthiest employer in Texas

Baylor College of Medicine has been named the healthiest extra-large sized employer in Texas in 2021 through the Healthiest Employers program. 

BSLMC named Top Teaching Hospital

Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center was listed among the 2020 Top Hospitals by the Leapfrog Group, earning recognition as Houston's Top Teaching Hospital. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization of employers and others focused on healthcare safety and quality.

2020 Healthiest Employers Award

For the fifth straight year, Baylor College of Medicine has been recognized as Healthiest Employer in Texas in 2020 by Healthiest Employers LLC and the American Heart Association for its outstanding health and well-being initiative, BCM BeWell.

2019 Houston's Healthiest Employer Award

The Houston Business Journal has ranked Baylor College of Medicine as one of the top three "Healthiest Employers" among companies with 5,000 or more employees. Others on that list include BP Corporation North America; Chevron Corporation; Hewlett-Packard Company.

Baylor earns C. Everett Koop National Health Award

Baylor College of Medicine has been selected as a winner of the C. Everett Koop National Health Award in 2019 for its workplace health promotion program, BCM BeWell. This year, 16 programs were considered for the National Health Award. Baylor was among only two awardees, along with additional organizations that received honorable mention.

U.S. News & World Report Rankings

Baylor St. Luke’s has been recognized as a Best Hospital for 2019-2020 according to U.S. News & World Report, including second in Houston and third in Texas. The hospital ranked nationally in four adult specialties and rated high performing in six adult specialties and six procedures and conditions. The Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor St. Luke’s was ranked among the top 50 cancer centers in the country and received accreditations for excellence in patient services, staffing, and technology.

Research and Innovation

The College ranks among the top 30 academic biomedical research institutions in the world in the 2019 Nature Index. In the Reuters listing of the World's Most Innovative Universities, BCM ranks in the top 50.   

Institutional Honor Roll

Baylor College of Medicine was named to the Top 20 Institutional Honor Roll by the Thoracic Surgery Foundation. This accomplishment signals the strength of the College's cardiothoracic program, institution leadership and faculty and staff.

U.S. News & World Report Top Graduate School

The 2019-2020 U.S. News & World Report annual list of top graduate schools place Baylor College of Medicine in the top 15 percent of all U.S. medical schools. In the research intensive category, Baylor remains among the top 25 medical schools of the 152 medicals in the nation at 22nd, and in the primary care category, Baylor rose to 4th.
