The Department of Pathology & Immunology has a highly active group of research faculty whose basic and translational research has received international attention. The areas of investigation within the department include mechanisms of transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene regulation, aging, pathogenic RNA processing in disease, developmental neurobiology, molecular pathogenesis of inherited neuropathies, cell invasion, mammalian reproductive biology, medical microbiology, glycobiology and conformational disease. Faculty participate in one or more of the 12 graduate and two combined degree programs at Baylor College of Medicine. Our laboratories provide a rigorous and open environment for biomedical research training for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Faculty participation in regular research presentations contributes to an interactive and supportive atmosphere.
