Eligibility
The Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship program offers two ACGME-approved positions per academic year.
Application prerequisites:
- Eligible for certification by the American Board of Pathology (AP/CP, AP, or CP)
- Eligible for certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (M.D.s only)
Key Dates 2028-2029 Application Cycle

Baylor College of Medicine Timeline:
- Oct. 1, 2026: Application window opens (apply online)
- Jan. 1, 2027 - Feb. 28, 2027: Interview window
- Feb. 3, 2027: Programs and applicants begin registering for the Match and sign the legally binding Match Participation Agreement
- March 10, 2027: NRMP ranking opens
- April 14, 2027: Rank order list certification deadline
- April 28, 2027: Match Day
- July 2028: New fellows start
Application
All application materials, including recommendation letters, should be submitted online, and include the following:
- Completed online House Staff Application
- Personal statement
- Curriculum vitae
- Medical school transcripts and step I, II, and III USMLE/COMLEX scores
- Two letters of recommendation
