We are proud to offer a comprehensive training program for those interested in academic medicine, private, or community practice. We offer extensive exposure to all pathology sub-specialties to help residents choose the career path that is right for them. We also provide the clinical expertise to allow confident practice in all areas of pathology. 

Fellowship Outcomes for Graduating Residents

The majority of our residents (69 percent) find fellowships within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) in Houston, Texas with institutions such as MD Anderson, Methodist, and University of Texas that are within walking distance of each other. Over half of our residents chose to stay at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) for at least one fellowship. In addition, 29 percent of our residents pursue many competitive fellowship programs across the country, and the remaining 2 percent obtain fellowships in Texas outside of the TMC. All of our residents complete at least one fellowship, and one-third finish a second. See the full list of fellowships our residents have pursued:

Career Outcomes for Graduating Residents

We are delighted to take part in the accomplishments of our graduate residents. Over the years, they have contributed extensively to our Baylor community and we are thrilled to see where their careers have taken them across the country. Over half of our residents’ first jobs (52 percent) take place in Texas, several at the TMC institutions. Six percent are stationed in Illinois, 4 percent in each state Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, New York and Oregon; and 2 percent in each state Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Ohio. Our remaining graduates are outside of the USA in Canada and Saudi Arabia. Our graduates enjoy careers in academics, private, and community practice. See the full list of graduates’ career outcomes:
