Psoriasis Treatment Options

Psoriasis is one of the most common skin rashes treated in Baylor Medicine Dermatology. We know that psoriasis can affect our patient's quality of life. In order to best treat our patients we offer a large range of therapeutic options to fit nearly every need:

PUVA (Psoralen + UVA)
A powerful treatment that combines Ultraviolet A Light with a medication that makes the skin more UV sensitive. Treatments are quick and the effect can be long-lasting.

Narrowband UVB
The latest Ultraviolet Light therapy. Effectiveness is similar to PUVA for most patients, but without the need for medication or other PUVA side effects.

Biologic Agents (Etanercept, Infliximab, Adalimumab, Ustekinumab)
Several new medications have been recently developed and offer new approaches for psoriasis. Dr. Ted Rosen is experienced in the use of these medications and has lectured other dermatologists on their use.
