Ablative fractional resurfacing with the Lumenis Ultrapulse Encore is a major advance in treatment of skin aging. A treatment that is more gentle than Total FX, using the laser only for superficial skin resurfacing, the patient experiences an easier healing course. The main after effect is the appearance and sloughing of many small crusted areas that fall off after 4-6 days leaving more even skin color and texture. Of note, this patient had failed other laser treatments for his multiple skin lesions due to sun damage.
