Setting up 2FA with your Baylor Medicine MyChart account

How would you like to receive the code? Two green buttons. First option is text to my phone. Second option is send to my email.
Select the method by which you’d like to receive the 6-digit 2FA code.
  1. Login to Baylor Medicine MyChart patient portal with your username and password.
  2. You will be prompted to set up your 2FA, if you have not done so already. You may be asked to enter the email address and mobile number at which you’d like to receive the code.
  3. Select the method by which you’d like to receive the 6-digit 2FA code.
  4. Access your email or text message (what you chose in step #3) to find your unique 6-digit code.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code you receive into the "Enter Code" box on the "Verify Your Identity" page.
    Important
    • If you accidentally click Back on the ‘Verify your Identity’ page, you will receive a second code. Please enter the most recent code received.
    • If you choose to receive the code via text message, open the text message on your phone and confirm that you are entering the most recent code received. 
       
  6. Keep "Skip this step next time" selected (blue and checked) to remember the device you are using for 90 days. This allows you to skip two-factor authentication on your trusted device (computer, smartphone or tablet) or internet browser (For example, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).
  7. Click Verify to log in.

Verify Your Identity. Enter Code. Skip this step. Verify. Resend Code.

When you log into MyChart, you will use your username, password and a unique, 6-digit 2FA code. You can choose to receive the code by email or text message and then enter that on the "Verify Your Identity" page.

Follow these steps to login with 2FA:

  1. Log in to MyChart using your username and password.
  2. Enter the unique, 6-digit 2FA code sent to your email or phone number (text message).

Frequently Asked Questions

Be patient as delivery times for emails and text messages may vary.  We recommend choosing to receive your 2FA code by text message as it is quicker, but sometimes it can take more than 5 minutes to receive your login code.

In your email inbox,

  1. Check your spam folder.
  2. Confirm that BCM_MyChart@bcm.edu is not blocked. Add it to your email address book or contact list. Please click the links for instructions on how to unblock contact in Gmail and Apple Mail.
  3. If more than 10 minutes have passed, click Resend Code on your Baylor Medicine MyChart page. Please note, if you resend the 2FA code, you MUST use the most recent code received.

Check if you have blocked receiving text messages from Baylor Medicine (24187). Please read through the instructions on how to unblock senders for Android and iOS.

No, do not close the MyChart page after you have logged in with your username and password and are waiting for the 2FA code. Closing the MyChart tab or MyChart app while navigating to another webpage to retrieve your 2FA code will cause MyChart to log out and require a new 2FA code.

2FA is required upon initial login of each device after May 2025. However, if you keep the “Skip this step next time” checkbox selected, you can skip 2FA on the specific web browser (E.g., chrome, safari, Edge, etc.) or device (mobile phone or tablet) for 90 days. This option is pre-selected by default.

If you are logging into your MyChart account from a public computer (e.g., library, school), we recommend de-selecting this option.

Login to you Baylor Medicine MyChart account. Navigate to the Personal Information section. Click Edit to update your contact information. Then click Verify to start receiving the 2FA code at the updated email or phone number.
