Nabeel Gul, M.D., PGY-2 cardiothoracic surgery resident, has been invited to attend the Robotic Fellowship with the American Association for Thoracic Surgery in the summer of 2021, alongside his mentor, Dr. Bryan Burt, associate professor and chief of the Division of General Thoracic Surgery. The fellowship provides an advanced educational experience for North American general thoracic awardees and their attending surgeons to spend a two-day period at Intuitive Surgical's Atlanta, Ga. or Sunnyvale, Calif. facility to participate in a hands-on training course on Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci System.
Nabeel is from Malakand, Pakistan, and earned his medical degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University with honors in 2009. He has received extensive training in surgery at the University of Minnesota and the University at Buffalo, where he graduated as the “Best resident” and “Resident teacher” of the year in 2018. He has received additional training in surgical critical care from Washington University at St. Louis in 2019. He is interested in establishing a career in thoracic surgical oncology.
