About the Lab
Why do a small subset of individuals develop life-threatening infections or immune dysregulation while the vast majority do not?
Our team of energetic physicians and scientists studies this question directly in humans. We combine human genetics and immunology to discover how immune responses protect us and how they can go wrong. We aim to turn these discoveries into better diagnoses and treatments.
Principal Investigator
Dr. Rui (Ray) Yang is a physician-scientist and tenure-track assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. His research focuses on identifying monogenic causes of life-threatening infectious diseases, immune dysregulation, and malignancies.

As a new and growing laboratory, we are looking for talented, curious, and motivated trainees—including postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, and clinical fellows—who are passionate about advancing our understanding of inborn errors of immunity and improving the lives of affected children and families.
