Eleonora Bartoli Lab

About the Lab

The lab employs intracranial recordings and direct brain stimulation to investigate electrophysiology in the human brain. We work with neurosurgical patients undergoing intracranial activity monitoring with stereo-electroencephalography (sEEG) for clinical reasons (drug-resistant epilepsy patients; patients enrolled in clinical trials for DBS implants). We leverage the opportunity to record directly from the human brain to further our understanding of the neural signatures underlying perceptual and cognitive processes. We also study the effects of neurostimulation across cortical and subcortical structures.
