About the Lab
The Burrage Laboratory focuses on understanding the genetic and biochemical basis of rare diseases. We integrate laboratory-based research with clinical and translational studies to identify the underlying causes of rare and undiagnosed conditions. Using disease models, we also investigate potential therapeutic strategies for these disorders. In addition, insights gained from rare disorders are applied to advance our understanding of fundamental biological processes relevant to more common diseases. Our work is conducted in close collaboration with the Baylor College of Medicine Undiagnosed Diseases Network and the Center for Precision Medicine Models.
