Professional Statement

A native of South Texas, Dr. Ahuero grew up in Corpus Christi. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University in Houston followed by his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham followed by a fellowship in Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.

Dr. Ahuero is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is licensed to practice medicine in Texas and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. His practice focus and area of expertise is in the treatment of congenital, traumatic, and degenerative disorders of the ankle and foot. Dr. Ahuero is a co-author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at both state and national meetings. He joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine in 2013 after spending several years in a busy private sub-specialty orthopaedic practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He takes great pride in providing individualized patient-centered care to those he is fortunate to have the opportunity to treat.
