Participants needed for child psychiatry study
Researchers at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital are conducting a study to learn if fluoxetine (Prozac) or sertraline (Zoloft) may affect height. These medications are often used to treat depression and anxiety. Qualified participants must be between the ages of 8 and 15 years and not yet taking any psychiatric medications, but planning to start fluoxetine or sertraline.
The study will follow participants for six months. It includes three visits to the clinic and four phone calls in between visits. Requirements include filling out a questionnaire for the child and parent, drawing blood, providing a urine sample, and a physical exam. Participants will be compensated for their time and travel.
