PASS-56321 is an eight-week, randomized, clinical research study that aims to explore the benefits of increasing Physical Activity and Stopping evening Snacks on youth with prediabetes!

Eligibility:

  • 12-18 years of age
  • Diagnosis of prediabetes
  • Two-hour screening visit to assess and confirm eligibility (blood sample may be needed)

What’s Involved in the study?

  • Travel to the Children’s Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center for two required visits (main study) + extra optional* visits.
  • Complete questionnaires, logs, and/or surveys
  • Blood and urine samples
  • Sugar loading tests
  • Body image scans

*Some participants will do two extra visits to give a urine sample for us to learn more about energy use!

Compensation:

  • Up to $250 for participating in the main study
  • Up to $400 if completing the optional add-on assessments
  • Free parking provided
