EXON: Prevalence of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency Among Subjects with Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (H-47851)
Description
The purpose of this study is to see whether the researchers can estimate the frequency and severity of pancreatic insufficiency (called "EPI") in pancreatic cancer patients using a lab test for a fecal enzyme. Researchers will also look at whether certain factors that are unique to each individual and their cancer can help predict the risk of developing EPI. Some of these factors are the presence and severity of their cancer symptoms, where the tumor is located, age, race, sex and personal history of smoking or drinking alcohol.
Participants will provide blood and stool samples, and answer questions about their personal history and symptoms. Participants will continue their standard care for their pancreatic cancer - this study does not change the type or duration of the cancer treatment.
