BCM School of Medicine Pre-Entry Program

I valued getting to meet my future peers at Baylor and getting a head start on making friends as well as meeting/interacting with current medical students. I also really appreciated the PBL case as it gave me a better understanding of what it looks like and how to approach it for when school starts. And overall, I learned that Baylor truly wants their students to succeed which was very comforting to know.

I liked that we were able to talk to medical students, but I specifically liked that they were a recurrent part of the program. Caleb showed up at multiple times throughout the program, so it was nice to build a rapport with him naturally. He also gave us great insight into what he has learned about the steps to take to become a competitive applicant for residency.

The keynotes were my favorite parts of the professional identity sessions. Hearing from faculty who have already been through what we are about to take on is very inspirational, especially hearing about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.

I valued the PBL practice and the opportunity to learn about study resources from the students themselves. These sessions made me feel more prepared and confident upon entering medical school.
