Box is an online file sharing and cloud content management service that works on PCs, Macs, mobile and tablet devices and provides access to files from any location for collaboration with other users or external parties.

Box is working to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance on core web apps but it currently does not meet all accessibility standards. Accessibility support is available via a separate site: a.box.com. To read more: Box Accessibility & Usability Information.
Request a Box User Account:
In order for users to access Box links within Blackboard or other applications, they must request access from IT in advance. There is an IT form that users must submit in order for IT to grant access to view Box links. Choose Option #1, A No Fee Account.

- Username: BCM Email (format as eca@bcm.edu NOT firstname.lastname@bcm.edu)
- Password: BCM Password
Note: Users should not submit a form if a spreadsheet was already submitted. This would create duplicate submissions and cause confusion for IT.
If there are multiple users (such as an incoming class of students) that need access to Box, submit a spreadsheet with the following information to the IT form.
- ECA (BCM username)
- Email (format as eca@bcm.edu)
- Name (format as FirstName LastName)
- Department (departments for students have varied as follows:)
- Active Student
- Office of Student and Trainee Services
- Ofc SA-BCM Students
- Office of Student Affairs
- GSBS - First-Year Students
- Manager (format as FirstName LastName) - this can be the student's supervisor, manager, director, etc.

NOTE: Does not need a MFA token
For users who have exceeded the Box "No Fee Account" limit and cannot have a "Fee Based Account" then these individuals will need to delete/move some or all of their Box content to another storage option, such as OneDrive or Teams.
