Accessibility
MS Teams offers accessibility features that allows users to easily navigate and read the MS Teams web interface. The web interface supports screen readers for all available creator and viewer interfaces. The web interface also support keyboard access, allowing you to use the tab key to access all available functions. All sessions fully support adding and displaying captions. For additional information on MS Teams’ accessibility features, visit MS Teams’ Accessibility Conformance Report (WCAG Edition).

The BCM Information Technology Business Enablement Team offers weekly coaching sessions on Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Storage, Planner, OneNote, and other Microsoft products. These sessions are offered Tuesday at 9 a.m., Wednesday at 7 a.m., and Thursday at 1 p.m.. Department and individual sessions are also available by appointment.

The following steps will guide you in using Microsoft Teams (Quick Start Guide):

1. Click Access Teams.
2. Enter your BCM Username and Password.
3. Authenticate with BCM Federated Login when prompted.
4. Select the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen to access the settings gear icon, zoom, keyboard shortcuts, about, check for updates, download mobile app.
   • Select settings (gears icon) to adjust your settings, including: general (theme, chat density, layout, application), accounts, privacy, notifications, devices, App permissions, captions and transcripts, files, and calls.
5. Select Join or create a team near the bottom left corner of the screen (near the Help icon), options include: Create a team, Join a team with a code, or Join public teams available.
6. Select the Apps icon (square with four smaller squares inside) in the lower left corner to view the Apps available.

Creating a Team
The following steps will guide you in creating a team in Microsoft Teams:

1. Select Join or create a team near the bottom left corner of the screen (near the Help icon) and click Create a team.
2. Next, select the type of team you want to create, options include class, professional learning community, staff, and other.
3. Create your team by adding a name, description, and privacy level.
4. Then add people to your team.
5. The new team will have a general channel added. You can customize your team with additional channels and Apps.

Setting up the meeting to allow external users in the Teams Session

You can allow people from outside your organization to join Teams meetings hosted by users in your organization. This article describes the options available for hosting meetings with people outside your organization, which types of external meeting participants can be verified, and which Teams features are used to control their access to meetings.

How external users access the Teams Session

You can join a Teams meeting anytime, from any device, without signing into a Teams account. If you're having trouble joining a Teams meeting, try I can't join a Teams meeting.

Important:  For some meetings, admin settings prevent unverified people from joining the meeting. Depending on the meeting, you may have to enter a one-time passcode sent to your email or create a Teams account.
