CNRC investigators are assigned access to work in these laboratories on a need basis. This assigned access provides assigned bench drawer and cabinet space for storage of tissue culture supplies, assigned freezer and refrigerator space.
The responsibility for procurement of tissue culture supplies lies with each individual investigator. Investigators may also be assigned their own incubator depending on availability, or they may consider purchasing their own incubator for use in the facility.
In exchange for access to a tissue culture laboratory, investigators and their staff agree abide by the established operating procedures of the core and to actively participate as needed, and on a rotational basis, in weekly cleaning and sanitizing activities to minimize culture contamination.
