Adult Cancer Services
Collectively, The Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center is working to deliver a consistent quality of patient-focused, multidisciplinary care for all major cancer types.
Brain Cancer. The Department of Neurosurgery, the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of the entire nervous system, provides the highest-quality neurosurgical care for patients who have an illness or injury that affects the brain, spinal cord and spinal column, or peripheral nerves throughout all parts of the body (hands, legs, arms, face).
Breast Cancer. The Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center offers women a comprehensive, expert resource for all their breast care needs, including mammography screening, evaluation of benign disease, and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all stages of breast cancer.
Cell and Gene Therapy. The Center for Cell and Gene Therapy works to rapidly translate novel cell and gene therapy protocols from the laboratory to the clinic and serves as a resource to the college, Baylor Clinic and its affiliated hospitals.
Cervical, Ovarian and Other Gynecological Cancers. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is dedicated to serving the health needs of women, with an emphasis on comprehensive, compassionate, patient-oriented care.
Colon, Liver, Pancreatic and Other Gastrointestinal Cancers. The Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract and liver diseases. We offer prompt evaluation and endoscopy for a full spectrum of gastrointestinal (GI) complaints, including complicated reflux disease, gastroparesis, refractory nausea and vomiting, chronic abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), abnormal liver function and chronic Hepatitis B and C. We are also proud to offer one of the nation's best liver transplant programs. The Elkins Pancreas Center specializes in pancreatic cancers.
Head and Neck Cancers. The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine offers a full spectrum of services for medical and surgical disorders of the head and neck.
Leukemia and Lymphoma. The Section of Hematology/Oncology offers expert, compassionate patient care for those suffering from cancer or a blood disorder. We also conduct leading-edge clinical and basic science research to advance the fight against these deadly diseases, and educate medical students, residents, fellows and faculty members in the areas of hematology and oncology.
Lung Cancer. Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine provides comprehensive services for patients with illnesses that affect the lungs and breathing.
Musculoskeletal Cancers. The Department of Orthopedic Surgery offers expert, comprehensive care for adult and pediatric patients with orthopedic injuries and illnesses, including sports medicine, spine, trauma, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, oncology and total joint replacement care.
Skin Cancer/Melanoma. The Department of Dermatology offers outstanding care for patients with all skin problems, combining the leading-edge treatment Baylor College of Medicine is known for with the patient friendly approach that sets Baylor Dermatology apart.
Thyroid Cancer. The Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism offers expert consultation and patient care for the full range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. We are also one of the nation's leading centers for endocrine research
Urological Cancer. The Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine is dedicated to the delivery of compassionate, state-of-the-art care for those with urologic conditions. We work daily to uncover new information about urological disorders, to translate the latest findings and newest technologies into better patient care, and to train tomorrow's leading urologists.
Pediatric Cancer Services
The Texas Children's Cancer Center (TCCC) is an integral part of the DLDCC with programs that serve pediatric patients and transition young cancer patients to adult care. Offering a wide range of pediatric cancer specialties, the TCCC has one of the largest pediatric oncology training programs in the nation. The TCCC is the site of the Childhood Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Center, a joint center of Baylor College of Medicine and the MD Anderson Cancer Center, that pursues both population based and molecular epidemiology studies of childhood cancer. Cancer genetic studies are undertaken through participation in the NCI-supported Texas Cancer Genetics Consortium. For more information see Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Centers.
