Vulvar cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow out of control in the vulva. The vulva includes the lips of the vagina, the sensitive tissue between those lips called the clitoris and the opening of the vagina. Our team of gynecologic oncologists is experienced in treating vulvar cancer and work in close collaboration with radiation oncologists and plastic surgeons within the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center.
There’s Every Reason to Choose the Duncan Cancer Center
Cutting-Edge Surgical Techniques
Our gynecologic oncologists are skilled in various surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted surgery and other minimally invasive procedures, to give patients options for their surgical treatment.
Clinical trials are available to patients to give them treatment options that they may not have access to otherwise. These clinical trials often include immunotherapy options.
Sentinel Node Mapping
By injecting a dye during surgery which highlights representative lymph nodes, patients can avoid a full lymph node dissection and decrease their risk of lower extremity swelling (lymphedema) after surgery.
