Pediatric Renal Care

Outpatient care is provided at the renal and hypertension clinics at Texas Children's Hospital. Patients can be self-referred but generally are referred by a primary care physician. Children up to age 18 are seen for a variety of renal-related diseases including:

  • Proteinuria (protein in the urine)
  • Hematuria (blood in the urine)
  • Congenital renal disorders
  • Renal tubular disorders
  • Nephrotic syndromes
  • Cystic diseases
  • Hypertension
  • Renal failure
  • Urinary tract infections

Appointments for renal and hypertension clinics at Texas Children's may be made by calling (832) 822-2778 or (832) 824-3800. Please have your insurance information available when you call.

Renal clinics are held on Monday afternoon, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and Thursday afternoons, every week excluding holidays.

Hypertension clinics are held on Mondays.
