Child Neurology Residency Research


Research activities at Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliated hospitals add an important facet to the Pediatric Neurology Residency Program. Baylor has several nationally renowned pediatric research facilities:

The extensive research conducted in these institutions provides house officers with access to current diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, often before they are generally or commercially available. Specific seminars help residents to learn basic research skills to include devising a research protocol and publication design. Faculty members offer strong support for those residents who choose to participate in research projects.

  • Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, dedicated to translational research for pediatric neurological diseases.
  • Children's Nutrition Research Center, one of six USDA/ARS human research centers in the country.
  • One of the nation's three Pediatric Clinical Research Centers located in children's hospitals.
  • One of 14 Child Health Research Centers designated by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to expedite the application of molecular medicine to pediatrics.
