Internal Medicine Residency

Message From Our Chief Residents

If you are reading this page, it means you are curious about the Baylor College of Medicine Internal Medicine Training Program. As the current chief residents, we want to welcome you to learn about who we are as individuals, the patients we care for, and what it is about our program that makes it one of the greatest in the country. Amongst our three training hospitals ranging from the county system to the Veterans Affairs hospital to the private sector, Baylor physicians care for hundreds of thousands of patients a year. This provides trainees with a broad exposure to some of the rarest and most fascinating diseases, while leaving us very comfortable treating common medical illnesses. Being in the country’s largest medical center and in one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world means an unparalleled learning environment with patients and colleagues from all over the globe. There is no doubt our patients are what make us exceptional, and we take great responsibility and joy in caring for them.

In addition to the patients, the Baylor family is one we could not be any prouder to be a part of. From ancillary staff to medical students to residents to faculty, the friendships that are formed are priceless and the sense of community creates a friendly work environment and personal support system. Every graduating resident will tell you they have been inspired and motivated by the people around them to become better physicians, and this is in large part due to our emphasis on clinical excellence and medical innovation.

We are proud to say Baylor is the kind of place where you cannot help but fall in love with medicine. We are excited for you to discover more about our program, and the people who make up our Baylor family.  From this page, you will find links to our current PGY1 residents, PGY2 residents, PGY3 residents, and our Fellowship Match.

Sincerely,
Natalia Khalaf, Maulin Shah, Andy Tau, Sergio Torres
