As a program, we feel it is important that we represent the diversity and cultural richness of the patients we serve. We actively look to recruit strong candidates from all walks of life. Resident Life
Balancing the demands of residency with time for fun and relaxation is essential. We build in opportunities for our residents to spend time together outside the hospital.
“Aftershocks” is a monthly social night which alternates in location between various venues in central Houston, and provides an opportunity for residents to informally check in with one another on a regular basis. This is especially important for residents who have been off-service for the month, and have therefore not had the good fortune of being surrounded by friends every day the way we are in the ED.
