Our Comprehensive Gastroenterology program provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services in a multidisciplinary fashion. Our providers work to diagnose patients who have complex sets of symptoms without a diagnosis and manage already diagnosed patients with up-to-date, evidence-based treatment strategies.
Services
We offer a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services to meet and serve patients wherever they are in their course of gastrointestinal problems. From the work-up of undiagnosed symptoms (e.g., gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation) to the multidisciplinary, team-based management of complex gastrointestinal problems (e.g. Inflammatory Bowel Disease, chronic pancreatitis, Barrett's esophagus, large polyps and sever irritable bowel syndrome).
Our physicians work in team-based models of care with a dietician and clinical psychologist available to meet the needs of the whole patient. We look forward to the opportunity to provide your GI care.
Office Based Procedures
Our gastroenterology team provides clinic-based procedures; a variety of minor procedures in our clinics, rather than sending you to hospital or surgery center. For most clinic-based procedures, we require a consultation appointment first, which will allow you and your physician discuss options and correct care approach.
We offer a variety of clinic-based procedures including:
- Breath testing
- Rectal balloon expulsion and rectal sensitivity test
- Video capsule endoscopy
- SmartPill Capsule
Hospital GI Care
Our gastroenterology team provides inpatient consultations and continuity of care for patients at the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Texas Medical Center. We perform endoscopic procedures in an on-site endoscopy unit, or bedside in intensive care units. In addition, our team provides consultations for patients at the Pavilion for Women and young adults at Texas Children’s Hospital. Our team and administrative staff ensure seamless transition of patients from the hospital to clinic, with scheduling of follow-up clinic appointments and procedures scheduled at the time of discharge from the hospital.
