Experts in the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and benign breast disease. We offer mammography screening, risk assessment and preventative care, genetic testing and counseling, cancer treatments, clinical trials and long-term survivorship care in one location.
Surgeons, reconstructive surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and genetic counselors work together in the clinic along with specially trained nurses and staff to provide comprehensive, compassionate care of women with breast disease and cancer.
We are one of only a few comprehensive breast care centers in the country focused exclusively on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast disease and breast cancer. Statistics show that patients who go to comprehensive breast centers have improved outcomes and greater likelihood of survival compared to those who seek treatment elsewhere.
The Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center also includes a breast cancer research program, which enables us to quickly translate the latest research findings into improved treatment for our patients, and an academic teaching unit.
