Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Residency Program Directors' Message

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Baylor College of Medicine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency. Our program is a nationally and internationally recognized top-tier training program. We have a strong foundation established by pioneers in PM&R at our department’s inception in 1957. Through generations of trainees, alumnae, and faculty, we carry on a proud tradition of advancing clinical care, research, and education in the field of PM&R.

Our residency program strives to remain dynamic and relevant to the continuous evolution of our specialty. We uphold and are committed to the core values of BCM - Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork, and Excellence. Fostering a training environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion is a cornerstone of our mission, as we believe such an environment is vital to our ultimate goal of training future physiatrists who will lead and best serve the needs of our patients and the community – locally, nationally, and globally.

We invite you to peruse this website to get acquainted with our residency program, faculty, and partnering institutions. We are confident that our graduates will be well prepared for clinical practice after receiving broad exposure to different practice settings (e.g. county hospital, VA, and private), allowing for the development of a diverse skillset that can be adapted to almost any circumstance. With the world’s largest medical center in the heart of one of the nation’s most diverse city as our home and being a part of the Baylor family provides tremendous opportunities for our residents to further their personal and professional development.

If you are looking for a program that combines academic excellence with a collegial and supportive working environment within a vibrant community, the BCM PM&R residency program may be the right fit for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions!
