Additionally, every interaction I had with residents and faculty from interview day to the second look confirmed that Baylor would provide me with exceptional training in a welcoming and supportive environment. To top it off, Houston has a great food scene!

I was especially drawn to the program’s high volume and the chance to gain broad experience in ocular oncology. I also value Baylor for its environment that encourages early autonomy while providing the right amount of guidance and mentorship—a program where I know I will be challenged, supported, and pushed to grow into the best clinician, surgeon, and academic I can be. Outside of work, I’m looking forward to exploring Houston’s museums, parks, and vibrant food scene.

Why Baylor: Growing up in Houston, it has always been my goal to one day serve my own community. Many of the core hospitals that Baylor partners with has served me and my family in some way (Ben Taub, VA, TCH, and Houston Methodist). I love the idea of working in the largest medical center in the world, while also being just a short drive away from my family that raised and supported me to this point. I am really inspired by the culture, autonomy, and leadership that Baylor fosters throughout each of its programs- and cannot wait to join the alumni network that served my community in Houston!
