Anesthesiology Residency

Admissions

Residency training in anesthesiology consists of four years of graduate medical education – one year of clinical base training and three years of clinical anesthesia. The clinical base year consists of 12 months of broad medical education and is generally the first year of the anesthesiology training continuum.

All applicants to the anesthesiology residency program must register with the National Residency Matching Program. Information regarding requirements for the Match is located at the National Residency Match Program site.

The program currently offers positions in the following categories:

  • Categorical: Internship plus three years of anesthesiology in a consolidated 4-year program.
  • Advanced: Three years of anesthesiology at Baylor after successful completion of an internship in another program. Advanced slots and internships are attained in the SAME match year.
