Hispanic Heritage Month 2023
National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each September 15 through October 15 and provides an opportunity to recognize contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latinx Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.
2023 Observation Events
The following events take place in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in 2023:
Sept. 30, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) is seeking volunteers for a Dia de La Mujer Health Fair on September 30, 2023, 8am-noon. Volunteers will be offering blood pressure readings and glucose screenings. Sign up here to volunteer.
Oct. 3, noon to 1:00 p.m. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Molecular & Human Genetics Seminar Series in collaboration with the Office of Community Engagement and Health Equity present Baylor Health Equity Grand Rounds featuring Dr. Elba Serrano, Regent's Professor, New Mexico State University. Dr. Serrano will present "Developing Pathways to Sucess for Latine Women in STEM" on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 12:00-1:00pm. This presentation will be held in person in the Cullen Auditorium and virtually on Zoom. Register Here

American Board of Pediatrics Hispanic Leader Highlight
