Professional Statement
I am a social and mental health services expert with 28 years of experience in both social work and medical academia, as well as in public and non-profit organizations. At BCM, my role is three-fold: mental health services, training, and research. As a clinical social worker and EMDR trained therapist, I provide mental health services, integrated health care, and behavioral health consulting. I use a holistic approach emphasizing the mind-body-community connection and implement diverse therapeutic techniques. I am also a yoga and mindfulness practitioner.
As a researcher, I write and implement grants, conduct research on health-related topics, write scholarly articles, present at conferences, mentor fellows, and conduct community outreach. As a trainer, I develop and implement curricula on mental health related topics and train a wide range of audiences, such as physicians, medical residents, mental health professionals, probation officers, school counselors, college students, and the general public.
