T32 Fellow Dr. Waleed Ageedi Wins 2019 CVRI Poster Award

Waleed Ageedi, M.D., T32 research fellow, was awarded the 2019 Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) Best Poster in the postdoc category, for his abstract, “Critical Role of AIM2 Inflammasome in the Development of Sporadic Aortic Dissection,” at the 7th Annual CVRI Symposium held April 10, 2019 at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Ageedi joined the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery as part of its first class of postdoctoral trainees enrolled into its two-year T32 Research Training Program in Cardiovascular Surgery directed by Todd K. Rosengart, M.D. Dr. Ageedi is mentored by Scott A. LeMaire, M.D. and Ying H. Shen, M.D., Ph.D. in the Basic and Translational Research track of the program.

Dr. Ageedi is originally from Iraq and earned his M.D. from the College of Medicine University of Baghdad. He has completed two years of a General Surgery Residency at the Yale School of Medicine.
