Financial Aid

Scholarships

Baylor College of Medicine scholarships that recognize academic achievement and other non-financial need criteria are typically awarded to outstanding students when funds are available. Students are notified by the appropriate office once eligibility is determined. Merit-based scholarship eligibility is not determined through the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Information referencing outside scholarships is available for students to review in the Office of Student Financial Aid. You will also find scholarship information in the reference section of your local library.

Financial Need-Based Scholarships

These scholarships are "gift aid" and are not repaid. Baylor College of Medicine awards them to medical students on a first come, first served basis. Students must demonstrate financial need and provide parental data to be considered for these funds.

Loans

Direct Loan funds are available to students with interest rates as low as 6.8 percent. Remember, borrowed funds must be paid back, and the amount you borrow will impact your future life-style. Borrow only what you need! All Federal Loans awarded and disbursed will be submitted to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and institutions determined to be authorized users of the data system.
