Pediatric Immunology, Allergy and Retrovirology Research

Innovative approaches to developing novel and specifically targeted clinical therapies for immunologic, allergic and rheumatologic diseases is the primary mission of research conducted among both clinical and research faculty and staff within the Division of Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology and the Center for Human Immunobiology.

Allergy and Immunology

As part of the nationwide International Maternal, Pediatric, Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) Network sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, the Section of Allergy and Immunology provides a variety of research and treatment options for infants, children and adolescents with HIV infection. We conduct basic science, as well as clinical trials research for pregnant women and children with HIV infection in collaboration with other Baylor College of Medicine researchers and other national institutions.

Allergy and Immunology is also pleased to offer cutting-edge research and clinical trials in food allergy through our Texas Children's Hospital Food Allergy program led by Dr. Carla Davis.

For more information, view grants, and selected allergy and immunology publications.

Center for Human Immunobiology

As a central hub with bi-directional spokes emanating throughout Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor, Texas Children's Center for Human Immunobiology enables investigations and discoveries that will translate into high-impact biology and novel approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric disease.

The overarching goal is to create essential synergy with existing emphasis centers in genetics/genomics, international medicine and cellular therapy so that the TECHCHI will develop into a key ingredient in uniquely accelerating discovery and innovation at Texas Children's and Baylor.

Visit the pages of our center research faculty, Dr. Carla McGuire Davis for further details.
