The Cardiovascular Research Institute Pilot Award Program promotes the writing of multi-PI grants in cardiovascular research. The program has been successful in promoting collaborations across departments and institutions since its inception in 2012. The funding provided enables investigators to gather preliminary data to apply for independent funding, publish peer-reviewed manuscripts, and form collaborative alliances.

Eligibility:

  • BCM faculty who are members of the CVRI may submit applications. Apply to become a member.
  • Each proposal must include, but not exceed two PIs, with primary appointments in at least two different BCM departments. Collaborators from other TMC institutions are allowed.
  • IRB or IACUC approval must be approved at the time of application submission
  • Only BCM faculty and their lab may receive CVRI pilot funds.

Call for applications to be announced in August 2023.
