Blackboard

Blackboard uses Single Sign-On (SSO) so you'll need to use your BCM username and password.

Yes, you can access Blackboard from home.
Off-Campus Access

Some online items (MDConsult, UpToDate) can be accessed through the Baylor Virtual Private Network (VPN). Directions for setting up a VPN connection are located on the IT web site.

A VPN connection provides off-campus access to BCM's subscriptions such as UpToDate.

Baylor College of Medicine's IT Support department is responsible for email accounts on the campus. Please call 713-798-8737 between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to report problems.
Miscellaneous Computing

Wireless LAN, or WLAN, is available to the BCM community anywhere on the main Baylor campus. Wireless is also available in all of Baylor offices in the Baylor Clinic, the Faculty Center and at the John P. McGovern (Nabisco) campus. See more information on wireless access through the IT website.

Log on the ASC distributed computers with your Enterprise Computing Account (ECA) Baylor College of Medicine E-mail user name and password. This is issued to you when you arrive on campus.

An Enterprise Computing Account is the basic account issued to all Baylor College of Medicine faculty, staff, and students, as well as other people associated with Baylor College of Medicine under special circumstances. This account is primarily used for checking email, dialing directly into Baylor College of Medicine's network, or accessing some of the enterprise resources that require user authentication. This account is sometimes referred to as an "e-mail account", "watson account", or "express account". While these references are understood, it is best to refer to your main Baylor computer account as your ECA or Enterprise Computing Account.

If you can not logon to the computer with your ECA account, check to make sure that you are logging in correctly (make sure that the CAPS LOCK key is not turned on – passwords are generally case sensitive). If this does not solve your access issue, contact the College’s Information Technology HELP DESK at 713-798-8737.

The College Information Technology Help Desk is located in the Services building, suite 312H. Their office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Be certain to take your BCM identification card.

Ed-Tech provides limited hardware and software support for NA, PA, medical and graduate students. Ed-Tech will configure wireless settings on a student’s laptop, so they may connect to Baylor’s wireless network. Ed-Tech will also help students download and install BCM provided software such as O365 and Cisco VPN. Ed-Tech does not provide hardware or software support other than the above mentioned.
