Applicants must successfully complete a pediatric residency training program and be eligible for board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics. This is a prerequisite to sit for certification by the ABP’s Sub-Board of Pediatric Cardiology.
Application Process
The Baylor Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service and the National Residency Matching Program. We will follow the application schedules put forth by these organizations.
We host interviews over a three to four month period, typically beginning in August. It is important that all application materials, including transcripts and letters of recommendation, be received in a timely manner to allow for complete review of the application prior to issuing an invitation to interview.
Interview Process
The interview day will be conducted virtually, with opportunities to meet with Cardiology faculty, multiple current fellows, and our program director. We are happy to arrange meetings with faculty in applicants’ particular area of interest.

ERAS is a service of the Association of American Medical Colleges and was created to enhance transition to fellowship by reducing the amount of time spent on the application process. ERAS electronically transmits a standardized application, letters of recommendation, transcripts and other supporting credentials from applicants and designated Dean's offices to program directors.
All applications will be reviewed and considered by the recruitment committee only after the ERAS application has been finalized by the applicant and forwarded to Baylor Pediatric Cardiology by ERAS.
Advanced Training Opportunities
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology also offers advanced training in Advanced Imaging, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy and Transplant, Cardiac Critical Care, and Interventional Cardiology. Application and interview dates vary by subspecialty but applicants are encouraged to contact subspecialty leadership early, typically during the second year of fellowship. Interviews are usually conducted early during the applicant’s third year of training.
