The Section of Hematology-Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine, part of the Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine, offers expert healthcare for those suffering from cancer or a blood disorder.
We also conduct leading-edge clinical and basic science research to advance the fight against these deadly diseases and educate medical students, residents, fellows and faculty members in the areas of hematology and oncology.
Mission Statement / Vision
The mission of the Section of Hematology/Oncology is to generate knowledge through basic and clinical research, educate scientists and clinicians, and provide cutting-edge care to patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders.
Research: In partnership with the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, investigate the basis of hematologic and oncologic disorders and explore these areas through translational studies.
Education: Provide classroom, clinical and research training to students, residents, fellows, faculty and professionals on the basis of hematologic and oncologic disorders and their treatment.
Clinical Care: Deliver research-based patient-centered care for hematologic and oncologic disorders.
