- The Section of Hematology and Oncology delivers comprehensive care across multiple leading health systems while advancing strategic priorities focused on integration, collaboration, teaching excellence, and faculty development.
- Faculty continue to drive innovation in translational science, securing more than $3.3 million in federal, foundation, and industry funding and publishing 61 peer-reviewed articles focused on hematologic and oncologic diseases.
- Clinical programs continue to expand, highlighted by the growth of the O'Quinn Medical Tower's Phase 1 clinical trial program, new multidisciplinary partnerships, and innovative studies supported by the Margaret Alkek Foundation and CPRIT.
- Faculty and trainees receive national and international recognition for excellence in research, mentorship, patient care, and education, with honors from organizations including ASCO, ASH, and Baylor College of Medicine.
- Education remains central to the section's mission through one of the nation's largest Hematology and Oncology Board Review courses, a thriving fellowship program, and continued investment in the development of future physician-scientists.
