About Us
The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship is a three-year program that will train fellows to become competent REI clinicians. They will function as independent investigators capable of conducting, evaluating, and applying results of relevant scientific research and literature to the clinical setting.
Our fellows will interact with the OB/GYN faculty and with the faculty in other programs, such as Pediatric and Adult Endocrinology, Urology, Genetics, and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. In addition, fellows will have the opportunity to work with the research faculty of our Cell Biology department, which is the third highest NIH-funded department in the United States. Fellows will also participate in conferences, didactics and in the supervision of resident and medical student training.
An option to pursue a Clinical Translational Research Certificate of Added Qualification (CTR-CAQ) program exists through affiliated educational institutions of Baylor College of Medicine and through the NIH-funded Clinical Scientist Training Program.
Candidates possessing a strong interest in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and research in this field, and who are graduates of ACGME-accredited residency programs in Obstetrics and Gynecology are invited to apply to our program.
Strengths of our program include strong genetics, pediatric and adolescent endocrinology, MIGS, and pediatric and adult endocrinology programs, with the addition of a strong hands-on training in IVF, and training in techniques of minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery.
Admissions
Our program is designed for individuals who demonstrate a high level of academic performance, have a strong interest in basic research, possess the requisite surgical skills, and most importantly, have a strong desire to develop as independent clinical and laboratory investigators.
All graduates of U.S. accredited or osteopathic medical schools that have completed a four-year residency in an ACGME-accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology are invited to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents in good standing in the community in order to be considered for fellowship.
Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) beginning December 1 through May 31. Application deadline is May 1 of any given year for fellowship commencing the following year on August 1. Interviews will occur annually in July.
The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship program participates in the Match through the National Residency Matching Program.
