This three-week program welcomes middle teachers into the labs at Baylor College of Medicine. Through hands-on research experiences and exposure to cutting-edge biotechnology at various Advanced Technology Cores, teachers will develop lesson plans to implement in their classrooms, enhancing their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) instruction.
Join us as 2026 BRITE teachers
- A stipend ($4,500) from the NIH R25 funding will be prorated based on the program components that teachers completed.

5:30 – 7 p.m. - June 29 – July 17, 2026 – Summer Research Experience
8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., in person at BCM - August 2026 – April 2027 – Monthly Virtual Professional Learning Community
5 – 6 p.m.
Eligibility:
- Houston-area middle school teachers of any STEM discipline
- U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents
- No prior research experience required
